The Burning Alchemist

If I could only use two words to describe this artist's body of work then " Phenomenal and Exquisite" would be those two words.  Mark Newman's sculpture is a wonder of detail and composition that leaves words behind and puts the viewer in a world of pure awe, admiration and wonder.  As much as his works are static in their final form, they convey such a strong sense of dynamic motion that you wouldn't be surprised to see them start moving at any moment.

I've spent many years learning, studying and practicing art in many form, and even knowing all of the intricate technical details of how his works are made, his works still leave me astounded and in awe.  His works show that not only has he mastered the technical side of his artform, but that he has advanced past the limitations of merely executing good technique and moved into realms where these are relatively trivial details in the execution of a wonderful artistic vision and a passion for form, beauty and story.
